Rococo young lady by DMaula Rococo young lady by DMaula
Another rococo lady. This time, she's a very young one.
My intention was to draw her full- length, but I got bored before that...XDD
I used pencil and some photoshop effects.

Thank you! Fake beauty marks were very popular in that period. Some people used them to hide skin marks or smallpox scars.  But well, in the case of this lady is a natural thing. ^_^

Haha I can understand the boredom part when you plan to draw someone full on! XD But that only means you have more time to work with the detail of her upper half! And you did so wonderfully!!

Yes, that's right. You can see it well, but the dress was intended to be a "robe à la polonaise".

You are too kind. I've always liked to design ancient costumes, but have any idea about sewing, so, I wish they have lots of mistakes. Thank you.

If you were interested in sewing it ever just remember not to add zippers of any kind. Zippers weren't around for common use until like the late 20's I think. Also (and I know this will royally suck to do) try to do it by hand. The sewing machine wasn't invented until around the 1870's. If you go by these tiips the costume will definitely look authentic.

Ha, ha. Of course, I know that zippers are a very modern thing. It you put them in an ancient costume replica, at least you should hide them well.
I'd like to know how to sew, but I guess I'm too lazy and unskillful for that.

Me too. I love designing, but when it comes to the actual sewing part I am at a loss. I mean, I do it, but I don't think I do it well. And you don't need to sew particularly cause you are so good at designing. Really you have talent.

A ver si recupero energías y termino algo.

Again this stunning work! It is a masterpiece in its own right. The line and form are completely flawless and the shading and dimension are impeccable! The intricate detial of each fold, decor and texture on the dress is an art lesson itself!

This has a distinct feel of the courts of Louis XIV. Or something like that, I forget these eras by name. There's a slight dissonance in your style as you go from the girl to the dress. Where she's very clean and light, the dress almost looks... dirty, or... at least more detailed.

Very well seen! You are right. I worked a lot in the face, but got bored when drawing the dress. XDDD (It's a stupid reason, but the truth. v_v)
This period is around 1770-80: Louis XVI style.
